Ropeye Deck Hardware Reinvented
Before the advent of ultra strength adhesives, options for attaching hardware began with a drill, bolts and sealant. Well, now there is an alternative that is softer, lighter and stronger than the stainless steel hardware of old. What's more, no technical skills are required to install, find a suitable surface, apply adhesive and press the fitting into place. Stick on Loops can be installed almost anywhere onboard and ashore! from bulkheads to the deck and trailer boxes to team vans.
Constructed using Dyneema® loops enclosed in either a Carbon or Glassfibre base, stick on loops are 3 times stronger and 5 times lighter than conventional fittings!
Initially designed for the IMOCA and Mini fleets to provide simple, strong and lightweight solutions for hardware placement. Over the past 8 years the technology has been widely adopted across the spectrum of boats from foiling moths to estuary cruisers as users seek low maintenance, lightweight, easy to install and cost effective alternatives to traditional mechanical fixings. Innovative uses include hanging storage for ropes, toilet roll holder, internal hand holds, securing loops for hydraulic jacks and gas bottles.
To secure the Ropeye XS we recommend using Tikkal Contact 12 mini, a 70ml tube of contact adhesive specifically designed for marine use above and below the water. Available in Black & White contact 12 is listed as a bundle option.
