This durable 8 plait polyester line is designed to be used as a general purpose utility line for mousing, lightweight lashing or burgee/flag halyards. 

When winterizing your boat or storing it for long periods, removing all halyards and control lines is essential for extending their lifespan. Winter weather can wreak havoc on ropes. Dust and debris accumulate, trapping moisture that forms acids, weakening the rope fibers. Repeated freezing and thawing cycles further exacerbate this damage. Additionally, damp environments promote mold and mildew growth, which can significantly compromise the rope's integrity. 

For most boats 3mm line will be sufficient to pull halyards back into the mast but not too small as to easily come off a sheave.
